
Firstly, put the lentils into boiling water and leave to simmer until ready (usually about 10 minutes or less) and pre-heat your oven to 200c.
While they're cooking, drain the white butter beans and place them into a large mixing bowl and mash. Then, add the chopped onion, crushed garlic, chilli, lime zest, breadcrumbs, oil, spices and salt.

Next, drain the cooked lentils and add to the rest of the ingredients. Mix everything together then divide the mixture into 8 equal parts and flatten into burgers. If you find the mixture too moist to shape, try adding more breadcrumbs.

Pop the burgers onto a baking tray, cover with some oil and place them in the oven for 30 minutes, flipping them halfway.
When ready, serve them with any fixings of your choice. Personally, I like to add a slice of beef tomato, salad, red onions, sliced avocado and a pickled chilli. Yummy!
