First, preheat the oven to 180C Fan /200C Electric / Gas mark 4.
Next, mix together the butter, sugar, golden syrup and vanilla extract, using an electric whisk. Once smooth, add the flour, baking powder and salt, whisking everything together.
When the mixture is combined, chop up the dark chocolate into small pieces. Fold the chocolate into the mixture, ensuring they are spread evenly.
Next, put walnut-sized pieces of the mixture, around 5cm apart, on to lined baking trays and pop in the centre of the oven for around 12-15 minutes. Turn the biscuits when they are halfway through, so they cook evenly.
Once golden brown, remove the biscuits from the oven and leave them on the baking tray for 10 minutes to rest. When they have harden slightly, place the biscuits on to a wire rack to cool.
